Meet Mrs. Rodriguez
My name is Sylvia Rodriguez and I am the third grade teacher at Most Precious Blood Catholic School. I am so proud to be part of such an amazing school. Go Saints! Just to share a little about myself, I am originally from Lyford, Texas but moved to Corpus Christi in 2007. I have a wonderful and supportive husband and four amazing kids! Claudia and Ryan are college students at TAMUCC and Jacob is a Sophomore at St. John Paul II High School. I am so proud of all my kids! I always say my favorite thing about my classroom is the people in it. I love being a teacher! I truly and faithfully believe that all children need to know who they are in Christ and what they believe as Catholic Christians. I fully commit myself to teaching my students that they are loved by God and He is with them always.
Education and Experience
I attended the University of Texas-Pan American and earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Early Childhood education in 1997. I am certified to teach Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade. I am also commissioned to teach Religion education and have taken coursework at the Catholic Distance University. I have been teaching for 27 years in both the public school and Catholic education. I have taught Kindergarten, first, second and third grade. I began my teaching career at Weslaco ISD and taught at Lyford CISD and Flour Bluff ISD as well. In the Catholic school ministry, I taught at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy for 8 years and this is my second year at Most Precious Blood Catholic School. Every year as a school teacher has been a wonderful blessing.
